Spooky season is officially here! I'm a little late to the game, because it's just now feeling like fall in Indiana. Or more like: 8am is winter, 2pm is spring, and 5pm finally feels like fall.
Many of you know I've started my first full time job, which means I have my own cubicle. Exciting things, I know. This means I'm in a freezing office 40 hours a week. Does every office feel like an igloo? I feel like this is a problem for everyone in an office job. Let me know. SO, I bought my first designated office sweater. A big, oversized, blanket-like, cheetah print cardigan (from target of course). Hopefully this solves my problem, if not, I have a space heater on my Christmas list.
I'm a graphic designer, which means staring intensely at screens 95% of my time, especially at my desk. Another favorite this fall has been my blue light glasses (but with pink frames, duh). I have no idea if they really work, or if it's just a placebo effect, but either way I like them. My eyes do feel noticeably less irritated since I started wearing them.
I recently moved into a new apartment in Fountain Square. It's amazing and everything I could ever ask for, but every move comes with a million purchases I dread making. Instead of spending big money on a new comforter I just got a duvet cover, which was the perfect choice. I'm glad I got it when I did, because it adds an extra layer of warmth for the colder weather. It feels so much heavier and luxurious, and all I was trying to do was update the color.
To match, I got new silk pillowcases. Or satin I guess, I don't have silk kinda money yet. Either way, this thing is a miracle. My hair has been significantly less frizzy when I wake up in the morning, which is saying a lot for someone who showers at night. My face has also been clearer and smoother, which is a plus. Not to mention it makes me feel classy af.
Last but not least, after an anxious night full of tears, I purchased this eye mask at 3am. I was using a cold, wet rag on my eyes to help calm the irritation and prevent swelling. Then on impulse I ordered this cooling, silk eye mask. Because when you cry as much as me, you should invest in something like this. I'm fine, I'm just a pisces. You can take the cooling insert out and just use the mask at night, which has helped me sleep. The insert is also heavy so it feels like a mini weighted blanket on your face. Trust me, it's great.
Oh, also dirty iced chai lattes are a favorite. Always iced, no matter how cold it is out. And with almond milk, because well, the environment. I promise you won't taste a difference.
OH! And I've rediscovered the miracle that slippers are. My apartment has concrete floors (it's cooler than it sounds), which means cold and hard and sad feet.
To celebrate all of these favorites, here are some fall inspired phone backgrounds for you! Just left click and download for free.
A favorite I'm embarrassed about? TikTok. Which explains the spooky, scary skeletons.
